In August 2006, Terri Pijut started www.UniqueCookAndServe.com, a website that specializes in Wilton Armetale cookware. "I originally wanted to carry cast iron products and during my research, Wilton Armetale came up," said Pijut. "I thought they're products were excellent and worthwhile."
Inspired by the high quality of the cookware, Pijut based her site around Wilton Armetale. "Everything of theirs is metal. They can withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees, or if you need to chill something, you can just put them in the fridge. They are all-purpose," she said.
As evidenced on UniqueCookAndServe.com, the designs reflect elegance and a demure sense that has been lost to modernity in contemporary cookware and plates. For all its positives, Pijut has been able to sell nearly the complete line on her site, though she may add their bakeware.
What Pijut has added, however, is a unique feature that many webstores do not have - a blog.
"I wanted to have a forum where I could write about the cookware - its high quality and maybe some tips on its care - that was completely separate from the actual store itself," said Pijut of www.AboutCookware.net. "I may also add some recipes and hopefully trade with other readers."
Through its two year existence, UniqueCookAndServe.com has been able to weather trends in kitchenware designs and stands as something that reminds us of the kind of durability that kitchen items used to have, while simultaneously representing a classic design that has been lost to contemporary styles.
