Hamman Marketing Associates' US Market Entry Program (USMEP) Introduces Tunisian Regional Fare to American Palates Through "Taste Tunisia" Project

Authentic cuisine from the South Mediterranean and North African region will excite American tastes for the exotic.

Hamman Marketing Associates, an international marketing communications and business development consultancy, announces 'Taste Tunisia'--a program introducing five Tunisian agribusiness companies and their food products to the US specialty foods market. The program is run in partnership with the Tunisian American Chamber of Commerce (TACC), with additional support from FAMEX, the Tunisian Export Ministry.

'Taste Tunisia' utilizes a customized version of Hamman Marketing Associates' unique US Market Entry Program (USMEP)--a marketing communications program--to work closely with each business, preparing them for this opportunity. The program will culminate with the five companies sending a delegation to the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, January 18 to 20, 2009.

"At the Winter Fancy Food Show, 'Taste Tunisia' will introduce traditional Tunisian products including tuna, regional condiments (harissa, mechouia and sun dried tomatoes), canned fruits, pastries, and Tunisian olive oil to the American palate," says Al Hamman, owner of the marketing consultancy. "This fascinating cultural and culinary experience coincides with the growing demand for authentic, international cuisine by American consumers."

The TACC/FAMEX project team is led by TACC Executive Director Rafla Mrabet. Ms. Mrabet invited Hamman Marketing Associates owner, Al Hamman, to share his expertise on international exporting with the chosen businesses.

During his August trip to Tunisia, Hamman met with and interviewed the companies about their products offerings. He used this knowledge to develop and present a customized USMEP for 'Taste Tunisia.' The USMEP is a comprehensive marketing and sales management program for international clients seeking to reach the US market. Mr. Hamman ended the week long visit with a presentation to the businesses on exporting to the US and provided marketing recommendations touching on such varied topics as target audience, sales literature and packaging requirements.
