Himalayan Kingdoms have been the Himalayan trekking holiday specialists for over twenty years, ever since founder and Managing Director Steve Berry ran the very first trip to Bhutan in 1988. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, expanding its range of treks year on year and winning the 2007 AITO Responsible Tourism Award. Now, as the company prepares to release its 2009 brochure, it is also unveiling its new name: Mountain Kingdoms.
The name change coincides with both the launch of a redesigned website and a new brochure that contains a greatly expanded range of trekking holidays and available destinations. Classic Himalayan treks such as the Annapurna Circuit and Everest Base Camp Trek are joined by a trekking holiday to Kilimanjaro, a cultural tour of Rajasthan, and dozens of other exciting new itineraries. From gentle treks and tours of cultural highlights to strenuous expeditions and ascents of high altitude peaks, the company now has adventure holidays for everyone, no matter what their level of fitness or experience.
Jude Limburn Turner Marketing Manager of Mountain Kingdoms, commented on the reasons behind the name change: "We are sad to see the old name go -- after twenty years it has a lot of sentimental value for our clients and for us. However, now that we offer a much wider range of treks and tours across five continents, it was time for our name to reflect the diversity we offer. Our philosophy hasn't changed -- we are still dedicated to providing high quality, trekking holidays and tours -- but we now offer them worldwide, and with a greater range of itineraries than ever before."
