21% of Hi-Tech and Electronics Supply Chain Executives Remain Positive About the Future of their Industry Despite the Current Economic Crisis, New EFT Report Finds

A new report from EFT research reveals the views of supply chain executives from the Hi-Tech and Electronics industry. Though most executives remain positive about the industry amid the global economic crisis, the executives' views suggest areas where improvements should be made. Shipping executives also highlighted what they plan to invest in next year.

London, UK (PRWEB) October 10, 2008 -- A new report from EFT Research has found that supply chain executives from the hi-tech & electronics fields are optimistic about their industry, despite the current economic crisis.

Respondents -- including executives from Phillips, Tyco Electronics and Cisco -- were also happy with their own companies' performance, with 86% of shippers and 95% of service and solution providers ranking their own company's performance as 'good' or 'excellent.'

The report also revealed which issues cause the largest problems and cost increases to supply chains, and which new technologies executives plan to invest in next year.

Some interesting discrepancies between shippers' and service providers' answers revealed a need for improved collaboration between both parties. Synchronization and visibility were also cited as two areas where technological improvements are needed.

The report was released in advance of the 2nd eyefortransport Hi-Tech & Electronics Supply Chain Summit, November 27-28 in Amsterdam. At the Summit, many of the survey respondents will meet with their peers to discuss key supply chain strategies, and tactics for supply chain improvement. Uniquely, this event is free for end-users -- supply chain executives working for Hi-Tech and Electronics manufacturers and retailers.
