SST, LLC an investor group lead by information marketing veteran Robert K. Sher; database marketing veteran Gary Schmidt; and middle market investment advisor Richard Trenkmann, today announced two sales transactions.
Alvion LLC, headquartered in Cape Coral, FL, a leading provider of secure, fast and affordable online, e-commerce, list count and sales automation systems for information marketing companies, was sold to Acxiom, Inc. a global interactive marketing services company, headquartered in Little Rock, AR.
Alvion Ukraine, headquartered in Sevastopol, Ukraine, a business intelligence services and data warehouse ETL developer, was sold to SoftServe, Inc, a leading Eastern European software development company, headquartered in Lviv, Ukraine.
In making the announcement, SST CEO, Sher said, "During our tenure, the Alvion ListKey Solution Suite became the industry leading ecommerce application for list owners, list managers and the largest data compilers." Sher continued, "I am proud of the blue chip customer base that we have had the pleasure to serve, and certain that this announcement assures a great future for Alvion's clients and employees."
Trenkmann noted that, "The opportunity to have strategic buyers interested in both our US and Ukraine units, made this decision easier than it might have been. " Trenkmann continued, "SST will continue to look for quality acquisitions in the direct, database and customer marketing areas, companies that we can help grow and reach their full potential.
Sher was Founder and CEO of PRIMIS Marketing Group; Founder and CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, Inc.; President of Donnelley Marketing; President of May & Speh Direct; Founder and EVP of Marketing Electronics; and EVP at Metromail. While remaining CEO of SST, Sher will return to RK Sher & Associates, advising companies in information and data marketing on growth strategies.
Schmidt, formerly president of Alvion, has joined Acxiom (The buyer), where he will play a technology management and leadership role. He has a career spanning 25 years, and has worked for Experian, BMG Direct, Hyphos 360 and has run his own consulting practice.
Trenkmann has a 30-year career in private equity, mergers & acquisitions and the merchant banking business. He has headed Triad Partners Inc., which has provided financial and strategic advice to middle market businesses, since 1991.
