xchange magazine and Trendsmedia this week presented the Best of WiMAX 2008 awards to six distinguished recipients. The annual awards recognize leaders in the development and deployment of WiMAX technologies.
Nominations were open to exhibitors, sponsors and speakers at the WiMAX World Conference & Expo held Sept. 30 - Oct. 2 in Chicago. Winners and Industry choice finalists were selected by a judging panel of experts from the WiMAX community. The Industry Choice winner was determined by on-site and online votes by conference delegates.
All winners were recognized during a ceremony on Oct. 1, following the close of the first day's convention sessions. The winners will be featured in the December issue of xchange magazine and on the WiMAX World and xchange Web sites.

- Service Provider Deployment: Towerstream for their New City network
- Device/Peripheral/Application Software: Motorola for the USBw100 WiMAX adaptor
- Industry Innovation: Ceragon Networks for FibeAirIP-10 carrier-grade wireless Ethernet backhaul product family
- Industry Choice: Motorola for the USBw100 WiMAX adaptor
