Cloud computing is beyond being the new IT buzzword. Plum Communications, forerunners in producing IT events, is pleased to announce the first cloud computing conference in Canada called, "Cloud Computing an IT Paradigm Shift". It is a one-day conference happening at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, February 11, 2009. http://www.itcloudconference.com
An evolutionary trend in computing has started to take place called Cloud Computing. "The Cloud" is a new paradigm in how we create and consume applications on the internet, allowing applications to run anywhere on any device at anytime. Limitations we have experienced by using singular pieces of hardware can now be replaced by a collective cloud of resources found on the Internet. Cloud computing represents the entire computing stack from software to hardware, with no system boundaries or physical location and is the next logical step in development, deployment and management of software.
Cloud computing has reached the critical stage where adoption is seriously being considered by enterprise and SMBs. However, it is not as simple as it appears and making the decision to migrate into the cloud can be a costly and time-consuming task that includes risk. Knowledge is a key factor to success. "Cloud Computing an IT Paradigm Shift" is an in-depth conference that combines a compelling knowledge-based seminar agenda with peer-to-peer discussion between users and industry experts for the purpose of sharing information and providing the tools required for success.
Interactive style sessions will address tier one issues including the reality of Cloud Computing - is it ready for prime time? Assessment of PaaS (Platform as a Service) and Infrastructure models; The Challenge of Scale; Migration Risks and Rewards; Security and more. The conference will include lively open discussion during and between sessions and will wrap up with the first CloudCamp in Canada.
"As software transitions from a traditional desktop deployment model to that of a network & internet centric one, "the cloud" will be the key way in which you develop, deploy, and manage applications in this new computing paradigm," states Reuven Cohen, co-founder & chief technologist, Enomaly Inc. Reuven is a noted computing evangelist who conceived CloudCamp an open space style, two hour event providing a common ground for the introduction and advancement of cloud computing.
"Wrapping up "Cloud Computing an IT Paradigm Shift" conference with CloudCamp is an incredible opportunity for everyone to take the knowledge learned during the day and put it out there in a relaxed unstructured discussion while enjoying great company," says Reuven.
Jai and Bruce Cole, Plum Communications Inc., and co-producers of "Cloud Computing an IT Paradigm Shift", are equally excited about the synergy between both events.
"The combination of two distinctly different models offers the best of both worlds and creates a unique experience for everyone that attends," elaborates Jai Cole.
CloudCamp was conceived by Reuven Cohen, (co-founder & chief technologist) for Toronto based Enomaly Inc. and with a core team of industry specialists and has become a noted Open Space style two hour event providing a common ground for the introduction and advancement of cloud computing. CloudCamp has a dedicated following and was recently in San Francisco and the UK with future camps proposed for Germany, and Europe. The first CloudCamp to come to Canada will be hosted by the "Cloud Computing an IT Paradigm Shift" conference in Toronto, February 11, 2009 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
