NewspaperARCHIVE.com Announces New Genealogist Columnist

NewspaperARCHIVE.com announces a new monthly column by genealogist Richard Hillenbrand, discussing the use of old newspaper articles for conducting genealogical research.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa (PRWEB) October 16, 2008 -- Cedar Rapids-based NewspaperARCHIVE.com, the world's largest online historic newspaper database, has partnered with Richard "Dick" Hillenbrand, publisher of Upstate New York Genealogy at www.unyg.com, to showcase historical newspaper content. This partnership will allow members and visitors to NewspaperARCHIVE.com access to useful and vital information about conducting genealogical research using historic newspapers.

"It is such a thrill to be able to do name searches, keyword searches or to search by location for those obscure clues that you would never ever be able to locate without historical newspapers. NewspaperARCHIVE.com will be in my bag of research tools forever," said Dick Hillenbrand, who has been using computers for genealogical purposes since 1979.

New content written by Mr. Hillenbrand will be integrated into the new Users sidebar on the NewspaperARCHIVE.com website, allowing both members and visitors to easily access the information. The articles will be provided at no cost to visitors.

Dick Hillenbrand is the second of several new writers who will be featured on the NewspaperARCHIVE.com website. Writers are selected for the quality of their work, the subject and scope of their interests, and their interest in historic newspapers.

Mr. Hillenbrand's first article can be found at http://www.newspaperarchive.com/GenealogistsFullArticles.aspx?c=articledickhillenbrandfull

Writers interested in contributing individual articles of that make use of archival papers in the areas of genealogy, sports, history, or as school lesson plans should contact Senior Content Developer Paul Stokstad at 888.870.0484 ext. 33.
