Jane Moritz, owner of The Challah Connection and Kosher Gift Box, a leading online retailer of Jewish gifts, has announced a brand-new addition to her websites (http://www.challahconnection.com and http://www.koshergiftbox.com): Do-It-Yourself Baskets.
Whereas the company has offered numerous pre-designed baskets, platters, and care packages since 2002, this new DIY feature allows the customer to hand-select their gift components. The process is quick and easy; the website displays all of the available options in stock as well as their prices so the customer can pick and choose. A $12.50 basket fee is added once all of the components have been selected.
"The Do-It-Yourself baskets are a valuable addition to the company's kosher gift options," explains Moritz. "The beauty of these gifts is that customers can choose exactly what they want to purchase. They don't pay for anything they don't want -- no unwanted nuts, cookies or any other items! Instead, customers can create the ideal kosher gift basket or kosher care package to please themselves or their loved ones."
For some, pre-made gift baskets are the perfect solution to all of their gift-giving needs: they are easy to order, well-planned, and make excellent gifts. Others wish to have more of a choice in their purchases, both with product selection and financial oversight. "I think this new facet of the company really gives customers the freedom to purchase what they want," says Moritz. "They do not feel as if they wasted money on unwanted goods, and instead they can concentrate on the Jewish gifts that will please themselves and others. It is their purchase after all; why not give them the latitude to include the items that they want most?"
Customers seem to be responding well to this new offering at Challah Connection. Moritz reports that the Do-It-Yourself gift baskets are more popular than had been anticipated. "We added this feature to the website before the Jewish New Year, and we've been pleasantly surprised by how well our customers responded to it," Moritz reports. Due to its immense success and in time for Hanukkah gift giving, the DIY component was added to the Kosher Gift Box website as well, allowing all customers access to this feature.
Judy Rankowitz, of Rye, NY, is just one of the many appreciative customers. "For the New Year, I sent Do-It-Yourself kosher gift baskets to all of my relatives," she says. "It was so easy to create them, due to the simple layout of the website and the plentiful product selection. I know my family loved them too. None of my siblings like the same food, so the personalization was key!"
