Holy Fire Publishing releases When the Perfect Comes, the Real Challenge for the Imperfect Church (Paperback, US$17.99, ISBN# 978-1-60383-096-6). Pastor David William Percy looks at the Biblical purpose of spiritual gifts in the Church, and poses a real and exciting challenge to the imperfect Church based on Paul's teaching at Corinth.

Percy discusses the two major conflicting opinions concerning spiritual gifts: Are spiritual gifts for today? Or does the Bible teach that spiritual gifts have ceased? Are they real or a sham? Percy's book is based on Paul's teachings about tongues, prophesy, and knowledge, in 1 Corinthians 13, the Scripture where much of the larger Church discussion has centred over the years. Questioning the two opposing traditional lines, When the Perfect Comes, the Real Challenge for the Imperfect Church, Percy seeks to present Paul's teachings to the Church at Corinth in the context in which it was written, posing a real and exciting challenge to the imperfect Church.

"As Charismatic Christians, can we rely on every word which is spoken by Church members with either a prefix or suffix of "Thus saith the Lord," and accept it unconditionally as from God? The Word of God has its own powerful purpose and is not a supportive text for anyone's agenda. Have we discovered the Purpose in Word and Spirit in order that we might grow to the acceptable Perfection, the full stature of Jesus, and truly worship Him in Spirit and in Truth?"--David William Percy

Percy's When the Perfect Comes, the Real Challenge for the Imperfect Church was accepted and listed as reading material by a Bible college New Testament lecturer who said, "I am very impressed by the depth of this study. It touches on new issues."
