Holy Fire Publishing releases Bootcamp for Christ (Paperback, US$14.99, ISBN# 978-1-60383-088-1). Greer's "spiritual field manual" puts Christians through an eleven week spiritual boot camp designed to help them grow as Christians, gain the knowledge to win spiritual battles, and to motivate them to grow the kingdom of God.
Greer believes that to be a stronger army for God, Christians can learn from the best army in the world, the United States Army. He employs the Bible and the knowledge he gained from his twelve years service as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army to equip Christians for God's service.
"With Christians under attack, creationism and prayer banned in schools, abortion legalized, and the separation of church and state taken way beyond what the founding fathers meant, proves that Christians have not been on the offense for way too long."--Tony Greer
Greer realized that many Christians today are like the military reserves were in years past: They "signed-up for duty" by accepting Christ, yet remain inactive in God's service. However, with wars on the rise, the military reserves have been "called-up" to serve along side the regular army. Greer wrote Bootcamp for Christ as a study guide to equip "reserve Christians" to fight and win the battles of spiritual warfare. Greer's desire for the Bootcamp for Christ is to bring many to Christ, and for all Christian readers to grow spiritually and join the ranks of the "active component of the body of Christ."
Bootcamp for Christ will appeal to military members, Christian small groups, and other Christians who want to grow spiritually. Greer's book is written as a "military style boot camp" in a small group study format and focuses on spiritual warfare topics such as, "Battle Gear: Learn what the full armor of God is, why it is important to wear it, and how to put it on. Spiritual Battle Buddy: Learn what a battle buddy is, why it is important to have one, and how to choose the right one. Know Your Mission: Learn how to find the mission or ministry that God has for you, and why it is important to find and fill that position. Know Yourself: Learn what your strengths are and what to do with them, and what your weaknesses are, and what to do about them. Know Your Enemy: Learn the enemy's strengths, weaknesses and tactics he uses against Christians.
Tony C. Greer, 30, spent twelve years in the U. S. Army. He wrote Bootcamp for Christ while serving as a Staff Sergeant deployed in Iraq in 2006/07. Greer is passionate in his love and service to God, his family, his country, and his church. Greer lives in Leander, Texas, with his wife, Shealea, and their two sons, Brent and Gabriel.
