Ambir Technology and BankServ introduce a bundled online deposit system for the healthcare industry

Ambir Technology, Inc. (http://www.ambir.com ), a marketer of digital capture products and software solutions for ID card and document management, today announced its partnership with BankServ (http://www.bankserv.com ), worldwide experts in payments. The two companies will introduce their first collaborative project at the upcoming Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) conference in San Diego. Combining the DepositNow software with Ambir Technology hardware, this bundled online deposit system is designed specifically for the healthcare industry.

The DepositNow solution is fast, accurate and convenient. Using an Ambir scanner paired with the DepositNow software solution, small practices, medical groups, hospitals and retail clinics can promptly deposit check payments into an existing US bank account right from the medical office.

"This partnership with BankServ enables a powerful and new capability for users of Ambir document scanners," said Mike O'Leary, CEO, Ambir. "Medical offices can now use one piece of technology, their Ambir scanner, to scan medical documents and check payments. With DepositNow, our medical office clients can electronically make deposits to their existing checking account, letting them get paid faster and save valuable time and money."

Medical offices save time and money with DepositNow by streamlining their payment process and removing the delay between receiving and depositing a check. With their Ambir scanner, office staff can instantly convert printed documents such as insurance cards, drivers licenses or other paperwork into easily shared electronic files and can now use that same scanner to safely and quickly deposit checks online.

"Research shows that online check deposit adoption can be accelerated with reduced up-front cost of check scanners," said Dave Kvederis, CEO, BankServ. "This exciting partnership allows medical offices to use the Ambir scanner they already own or that they purchase to perform multiple tasks essential to running a healthcare service. The cost of a check scanner is eliminated as a reason businesses might not switch to online check deposits."
