Enola, PA (PRWEB) October 17, 2008
CyberPatrol LLC, a leading provider of parental controls and web filtering technologies, announced today its support for the advocacy mission of the Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit public awareness organization committed to ensuring access to afterschool programs for all children and youth.
Lights On Afterschool
This month, more than one million people are expected to participate in Lights On Afterschool events across the nation and at United States military bases worldwide. More than 7,500 events are being held in schools, shopping malls, museums and other venues in honor of the afterschool programs that keep kids safe, inspire them to learn and help working families.
For the second year in a row, the Empire State Building in New York City will be lit up for Lights On Afterschool on October 16, 2008. Actress Rhea Perlman is a spokesperson, and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is National Chair - a position he has held since 2001.
A list of events is online at http://www.afterschoolalliance.org/loaFindEvent.cfm.
Lights On Afterschool 2008 also will mark the end of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, the largest federal funding stream for afterschool programs.
