eFlyer Asia Debuts to Overwhelming Success Global Traveler's Second e-newsletter Doubles its Subscription Base in Less than Two Months

Global Traveler's eFlyer Asia continues to see tremendous growth and success weeks after its debut.

Global Traveler, the only U.S.-based magazine dedicated to the business and luxury traveler, parlayed the success of their U.S. e-newsletter into the Asian marketplace. eFlyer Asia launched Sept. 1 with a subscription base of 5,000 opted-in emails. Since its debut issue seven weeks ago, the subscription base has doubled to 10,000 opted-in subscribers.

Global Traveler recognized an untapped market in the Asia Pacific region, noting that there was no electronic weekly newsletter dedicated to the frequent traveler. eFlyer Asia focuses its editorial on important news, deals and reviews.

"With only a few print publications in existence in this region dedicated to this niche, many needs of the readers were not being fulfilled," said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO. "These are frequent business travelers, consistently on the go, who need quick, useful information delivered to them on a regular basis and at the ready right there on the computer. The success of eFlyer Asia speaks for itself. Once again, Global Traveler has given the niche what they need and what they want."

The readers of eFlyer Asia are between the ages of 40 and 60, with an average income of $200,000 per year. The predominantly male audience takes 12 long-haul trips per year and 14 short-haul trips. With 60 percent of the readers flying business class and 75 percent staying at 5-star hotels, the newsletter focuses on the upscale Asian Pacific travel world.

The overwhelming success and positive response to eFlyer Asia is reminiscent of the success seen with eFlyer .U.S. Since its debut five years ago, the U.S. version has grown to include 50,000+ subscribers.
