Greenblock High Performance Insulated Concrete Form Wall Systems a Perfect fit for Conference Theme; "Revolutionary Green: Innovations for Global Sustainability."

We're looking forward to exhibiting at Greenbuild

Greenblock Worldwide Corporation, a manufacturer, marketer and installer* of high performance insulated concrete form (ICF) wall systems has announced that they will be exhibiting at the United States Green Building Council's "Greenbuild" Conference and Expo being held November 19-21 at the Boston Convention Center. (BOOTH # 2660).

With their roots in Europe over forty years ago, Greenblock has emerged as the leading provider of green, sustainable ICF building envelope solutions for the residential and commercial building industries.

"We're looking forward to exhibiting at Greenbuild", says Steve Reiter, vice president of marketing for Greenblock. "Making homes and buildings safer, stronger, healthier and more energy efficient is what we do, so we're eager to introduce our products and services to this audience", continues Reiter.

Held annually since 2002, Greenbuild is the premier "green" conference in North America. The 2008 exhibit hall will be the largest in Greenbuild history, with hundreds of industry-leading organizations showcasing the latest products, technologies, and services.

Insulated concrete forms are a 'stay-in-place' insulated wall forming system made of three primary components; high R-value expanded polystyrene foam, rigid plastic ties and steel-reinforced poured concrete. The use of ICF's began more than a half century ago and is continuing to gain popularity throughout the construction industry - especially now because of their disaster resistant, energy efficient and sustainable attributes.

The bulk of a building's environmental footprint is caused by the energy consumed in the heating and cooling of the structure over its lifetime. The high performance thermal envelope provided by Greenblock ICF construction can offer significant contribution towards reducing the energy consumption needed to control the interior climate of the structure. Greenblock homes and buildings continue to save energy and conserve resources throughout their useful life, which for a solid concrete building, is potentially 100 years or more.

Additionally, the lack of air infiltration and the resistance to moisture through the exterior walls eliminates the growth of mold and pests penetration thus creating a healthy and quiet indoor environment for occupants.

Projects seeking a USGBC LEED NC certification can earn a substantial amount of points in several categories utilizing Greenblock wall systems, most notably the difficult and heavily weighted "Energy & Atmosphere Credit 1 - Optimize Energy Performance" category.
