Henley-Putnam University Co-Sponsors Counter Terrorism Leadership Conference with Indio California Police Department from December 16-18, 2008 in Indio, California

Henley-Putnam University (http://www.Henley-Putnam.edu), a premier university for online higher education in the field of Strategic Security, announces the co-sponsorship, with the Indio California Police Department, of the Counter Terrorism Leadership Conference (CTLC) from December 16-18, 2008 at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino (84-245 Indio Springs Parkway) in Indio, California.

Federal, State, County, and Local Law Enforcement Officials should attend this conference, which will be a lecture followed by a Q&A session with some of the most well-known Counter Terrorism experts in the field. Experts include Gordon J. Graham, Jack Gidduck, George Akkelquist, Farhad Mansourian, Col. Danny R. McKnight and Col. Dave Grossman. This is the first time all of these experts will gather together at the same venue to discuss issues about Counter Terrorism, including Risk Management, Terrorism at Beslan, Islamic Extremist Doctrine/Mind Set, Hezbollah and Hamas, Leadership, and Psychological Survival.

About the Speakers
Gordon J. Graham, a 33 year veteran of California Law Enforcement, is an expert in Risk Management and earned his teaching credentials from California State University. In addition, he holds a Master's in Safety and Systems Management from University of Southern California and a J.D. from Western State University. His education as a Risk Manager and experience as a practicing Attorney, coupled with his extensive background in law enforcement, have allowed him to rapidly became recognized as a leading professional speaker in both private and public sector organizations with multiple areas of expertise.

Jack Gidduck, an expert at Terrorism in Beslan, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Penn State and a law degree from the University of Denver. In addition, he holds a Master's in International Affairs, specializing in Russian studies, from the University of Colorado. He has traveled extensively through Russia's elite Special Forces units for more than 10 years. He is certified through the VITYAZ Special Forces Anti-Terror School to conduct anti-terror training and operations, and is a certified instructor in Russian Special Forces hand to hand combat.

George Akkelquist is an expert in Islamic Extremist Doctrine and Mind Set, learned the Qur'aran at a young age, and has a Certificate of Completion, two years, Law & International Relations from the University of Lebanon. He served with the CIA in an Advisory Force Multiplier capacity for 5 years and then became a U.S. Army reservist for seven years. In addition, he has been a Visiting Instructor at the FBI Academy, Quantico, on interview and interrogation, Source and Asset Development; the U.S. War College in PA; the U.S. Join Staff's Level 4 Anti-Terrorism Executive Seminar; and various federal, state and local law enforcement training functions.

Farhad Mansourian was born in Tehran, Iran and is an expert in Iranian and Middle East current events. Fluent in Farsi and the author of numerous articles published nationally and internationally, he has provided high level analysis on Iranian and Islamic relations for local, state, and federal agencies including the White House, Pacific Region Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, CA.

Col. Danny R. McKnight, retired from the U.S. Army, is an expert in Leadership, graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor's in Management, then completing the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne and Ranger Schools. Colonel McKnight brings his experience to others through his presentation that provides a better understanding of the unparalleled commitment and leadership required to be successful when executing operations in the most difficult and severe situations.

Col. Dave Grossman, an expert in Psychological Survival, is a West Point psychology professor, Professor of Military Science, and an Army Ranger who has combined his experiences to become the founder of a new field of scientific endeavor, which has been termed "killology." In this new field Col. Grossman has made revolutionary new contributions to our understanding of killing in war, the psychological costs of war, the root causes of the current "virus" of violent crime that is raging around the world, and the process of healing the victims of violence, in war and peace. He is also the author of "On Killing", which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
