Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency holds several high profile events highlighting international trade relations in the fashion industry to face today's economic challenges.

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), in conjunction with the Korea Federation of Textile Industries, hosts the 3rd annual Global Korea Textile Week here October 27-29, 2008 at the California Market Center (CMC). Featuring a wide range of apparel, accessories, textiles and eco-friendly materials, seventy-five exhibitors from Korea will be unveiling the future of fashion with cutting edge designs and progressive, new fabrications for women's, men's and children's wear along with sportswear and swimwear.

The three-day event kicks off with a cocktail reception "Fashion Flock" on opening night to gather the leaders of the fashion industry together with exhibitors and textile show attendees and culminates with "FUSION" - a runway show previewing the finest Korean fashion collections for Fall-Winter 2009 and the latest fabrics from their premier mills. On October 27 and 28, KOTRA will be conducting 1 : 1 Business Matchmaking services onsite between pre-registered buyers or local companies and Korean manufacturers to explore merchandising, outsourcing and other networking possibilities for interested parties. For the duration, a Trend Gallery with fabric and trim samples will be on display in the main lobby of the CMC depicting the major directions and influences of the upcoming season in color, design and textile.

Key to this year's event is the opportunity to face the current economic climate with renewed vigor and versatility through cost efficient investments and outsourcing. With the soon to be ratified Free Trade Agreement between the US and Korea, opportunities open up on both sides with removal of tariffs that will allow greater flexibility for business and investment opportunities.

Global Korea Textile Week was conceived by KOTRA as one of its many platforms, events and services to showcase Korean talent and resources along with the efficiency, reliability and competitive pricing of their production capabilities for companies here and from other countries. With an extensive network of trade centers in ninety-six countries worldwide KOTRA offers wide ranging services including international trade exhibitions and events, business matchmaking, advanced etrade and IT capabilities, cultural industry marketing and global investment support system to make it an indispensible partner for any corporate entity who does business or intending to do business with a Korean firm. http://www.kotra.or.kr
