Frommer's® teams up with Aircell® to bring Frommer's travel guide content to inflight passengers free of charge. Passengers can now check weather, make dinner reservations, and plan trips at 35,000 feet.

Frommer's® today announced its relationship with Aircell®, the leader in global airborne communications, to bring Frommer's trusted guide content to inflight passengers free of charge. Starting with American Airlines, Frommer's, the market leader in travel guides and a branded imprint of Wiley Publishing, Inc., has designed, developed and is hosting the destination guides available on Aircell's inflight Internet service, Gogo®. Gogo enables airline passengers to access the Internet and be more productive in flight on Wi-Fi enabled devices so that when they land, they have more time to enjoy their destination. This is a new distribution channel for Frommer's and the first time the content has been available to inflight airline passengers.

Frommer's is providing in-depth travel guides for the United States of America, including Frommer's picks for "Best Hotel Bets" in major cities as well as Frommer's real time event listings featuring concerts, festivals, exhibits, sports events and more for each destination. Also included are up-to-date weather forecasts and airport guides for the four "hub" cities currently being served -- including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City and Miami.

"We are incredibly excited we can now provide real time Frommer's expert advice to travelers when they are actually en route to their destination," said Craig Schickler, Director of E-Business Development at Wiley. "This will enhance the travel experience of passengers both in flight and once arrived in their destination."

"Frommer's was a natural choice for one of the first content providers on the Gogo portal," said Tom Weigman, Executive Vice President, Wireless Services at Aircell. "As one of the most respected and insight-rich guides in the world, Frommer's is the travel companion of choice for many. Now -- via its inclusion in the Gogo service -- it's as accessible in flight as it is on the ground, but is delivered to passengers on the move, where such information can be even more valuable."
