Scotts Valley, CA (PRWEB) October 20, 2008
Nadel Phelan, Inc., specialist in strategic communications for technology companies, today announced that it has been selected as a category winner in the 2008 Summit International Marketing Effectiveness Awards. This honor was bestowed in the category of "New Product/Service Introduction" to highlight the innovative and effective strategy used in the product launch campaign of the Novatel Wireless MC727 USB modem. Nadel Phelan was selected from over 500 entries submitted from more than a dozen countries around the globe.
The Summit MEA competition is based on the premise that the goal of marketing communications is to change, influence or reinforce a target audience's knowledge, attitudes or beliefs. Using this premise as a basis for its judging criteria, the competition is a true arbiter of marketing effectiveness.
In order to ensure a positive and receptive industry environment for the launch of the MC727, press releases were drafted and went through the multiple required approval processes months in advance. Pre-briefings with top-tier editors and bloggers were set up under non-disclosure agreements and stories were queued to launch on the day of the announcement. The simultaneous posts around the blogosphere helped the news rise to the front page of TechMeme, a popular tech blog aggregator that displays the hottest topics in the blogosphere on any given day.
Nadel Phelan leveraged the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) by sending out modems to key bloggers and editors, whose websites received millions of views during the show. This not only ensured that many of the key influencers attending the show would be seen using the MC727 as their primary source of on-the-go mobile connectivity, but it also was intended to demonstrate its effectiveness to the bloggers and editors. The groundswell around the product launch contributed to the MC727 garnering two design innovation awards within days.
Following these successes, the MC727 remained in the spotlight, even during one of the industry's most anticipated events - the debut of the Mac Book Air - as it was touted in top-tier blogs as being the most streamlined and best-fitting companion to Apple's revolutionary laptop.
"Through our established relationships with both traditional and new media outlets, we were able to generate significant excitement and interest around the launch of the MC727. As a result, it has been one of the fastest selling products in Novatel's history," said Paula Phelan, president and CEO of Nadel Phelan. "We are very proud to have been chosen for this honor based on our successful efforts in launching the Novatel Wireless MC727 USB modem."
