Moi-Meme Attire Kicks Off Fashion Design Competition, Encouraging Others to Help Design its Custom-Tailored Garments

Custom clothier invites customers, designers, doodlers and fashion-enthusiasts alike to contribute to the design of its embroidered jacket.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 22, 2008 -- Moi-Meme Attire, the New York City-based custom career clothier for women, announces a competition to create a new embroidery design for its Calgary jacket. One winner will see his/her design produced and receive a $500 custom-clothing gift certificate from Moi-Meme.

"This competition is representative of our ongoing effort at Moi-Meme to incorporate customer and market input in all our designs," explains Dawn Verbrigghe, Moi-Meme's founder and CEO. "We regularly rely on customer suggestions and market surveys to inspire our designs; this challenge makes available an even more direct opportunity for others to get involved."

Ms. Verbrigghe -- who is also a management professor at Parsons the New School for Design -- developed an interest in custom apparel because she is too tall to fit into off-the-rack pants. She founded Moi-Meme to address the need for stylish, office-appropriate apparel that fits and flatters women of all body types.

Through the company's personal tailoring service, a Moi-Meme style consultant takes a comprehensive set of 20 body measurements, five garment measurements and a handful of photographs. She then assists the customer in selecting a style, fabric and lining color, taking into consideration the woman's unique body shape, work environment and professional goals. Each custom garment is individually tailored and ready within four weeks.

Competition finalists will be selected by Ms. Verbrigghe and Moi-Meme's fashion designer, Steven Hoffman. Subscribers to the Moi-Meme e-mailing list will determine the winner by voting online for their favorite design.
