The launch event of AAArtworks by Arthur Andelson brought out a wide variety of art connoisseurs to its debut art show in Encino on October 18, 2008 and really hit it out of the park to the pleasure and glee of all of the attendees. Guests came to view unique multi-media, 3-dimensional sculpture, installation art, and paintings. This unusual showcase featured works from the original collection of its founder and artist, Arthur Andelson (http://www.aaartworks.com), and included creations made from marble, slate, copper, tile, and other tactile materials in addition to traditional two-dimensional, hand-painted, framed art work.
Amid murmurs of "oohs" and "aahs" from awed viewers, the artist emerged with his characteristic humility. "I was thrilled and humbled by the turn out and support of friends and colleagues who came to experience my work," said the artist. "The appreciation level was so high that it encourages me to continue pushing the envelope with different artistic media to create new and unusual art pieces for discerning clientele."
The artist provided the perfect intimate setting during the three-phase tour, answering any and all questions posed by the guests. Phase one was the installation art, a highly stylized master bathroom made of tile and marble using a mosaic style, with intricate and detailed nuances of shapes and designs, and a common Aztec theme maintained throughout the area. Phase two was a display of paintings in original custom designed frames of a variety of subject matters. The finale of the tour was the meditation room, which proved to be a peaceful and blissful place of repose and tranquility. Every group grew silent as they approached the large rose fountain sculpture embedded in the wall. The soothing sound of the water was drowned out by the wows of the attentive viewers. On an intriguing note, the guests were caught sneaking back into the meditation room throughout the evening. One of many repeated observations was that the subtle sound of the water flowed harmoniously through the sculptured roses and was pleasing to the ears and eyes.

The launch event, which took place at a private residence in Encino, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, was hosted by attorney/actress/producer Vicki Roberts (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2399449/). "I was honored to have been asked to present such a talented artist to the community," said Roberts. "Arthur Andelson is truly an inspiration and a unique talent." The musical ensemble group "Nobody's Business" (http://www.myspace.com/nobodysbusinesssimivalley) provided eclectic yet soothing background music while guests dined on hors d'oeuvres and drank refreshments while enjoying the exquisite and sophisticated artistic offerings of the evening. "The energy of the crowd was so positive and enthusiastic," said the artist, who thanked the audience at the evening's conclusion. "While the art work is a labor of love, it is wonderful to know that it also has a practical application as well as interest for purely aesthetic reasons."
Original signed lithographs of the paintings displayed at the art show are available for purchase. Samples of those works as well as photographs of the types of sculpture and installation art available to be commissioned will soon be on the AAArtworks new website located at http://www.aaartworks.com.
