Bi-annual publication from Tank Design brings together contemporary art and fashion including Bela Borsodi, Charlotte Dellal, and Stina Persson.

Camouflage Magazine: The Shoes Issue

The goal of this issue was to express shoes in multi-faceted ways through visuals and words -- a narrative of sorts which does not limit itself to the obvious.

Tank Design, a strategic branding and design firm based in Cambridge, MA and New York, NY, has extended their award-winning design repertoire into the world of contemporary fashion and art with its October 2008 launch of Camouflage Magazine.

With a talented set of international contributors, the publication is a diverse collection of outstanding design, images and writing for men and women alike. The new bi-annual publication is elegantly stylish and intelligent, drawing together contemporary with vintage to create its own unique look. Camouflage's smaller format lends itself to a classic, book-like format making it timeless in its appeal.

The first issue of Camouflage Magazine is all about the world's fascination with Shoes and the stories they can tell. Whether purely functional or as a beautiful piece of art, shoes have long been a part of our lives. In the past few years, shoes and their designers have moved to the very front of fashion -- from the colorful to the eccentric, shoes have taken on their own personality and celebrity.

According to Mary Talato, Editor of Camouflage Magazine, "The goal of this issue was to express shoes in multi-faceted ways through visuals and words -- a narrative of sorts which does not limit itself to the obvious."

Included in the inaugural issue is a look inside a woman's dream closet with 'Must Have Shoes', an eclectic mix of women's shoes, from one-of-a-kind vintage to high-end fashion brands. London's very own Charlotte Dellal shows off her new shoe line, 'Charlotte Olympia' in a 12-page fashion editorial featuring her sister, model Alice Dellal on the streets of London. An interview with Austrian-born photographer Bela Borsodi takes a look at his original and sometimes controversial still life imagery. Acclaimed Swedish illustrator Stina Persson is presented in Camouflage's Art section, with her work highlighting some of the best threads in the business, such as Manolo Blahnik and Franco Sarto.

Camouflage Magazine will be distributed in the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia. The Fall 2008 Shoes Issue hits select book stores late October 2008. For further information, please contact Jaclyn Cerrato at 212.627.8662 or http://www.camouflagemag.com
