The luxury Terranea Resort, a Southern California meeting resort, announces sales leadership team for grand opening in June 2009.

Opening June 2009, Terranea Resort, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts, will be Southern California's newest premier meeting and event destination. This California meeting resort is already gaining momentum with the announcement of a stellar opening resort sales team.

Kathy Van Vechten, Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Leading the resort sales team is Kathy Van Vechten, vice president sales and marketing. Van Vechten brings more than 32 years of experience in the hotel sales and marketing arena, a track record that includes 19 years of luxury hospitality marketing with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

Ron Sandvig, Director of Sales
Sandvig brings more than 33 years of hospitality sales experience to Terranea. He most recently spent 10 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts focusing sales efforts on the 76 four and five star hotels and resorts in the company's St. Regis and Luxury Collection brands.

Elizabeth Baum, National Sales Manager
Based in New York, Baum is a seasoned professional whose more than 20 years of experience include positions with PGA National Resort & Spa, Ritz-Carlton properties in Las Vegas and Bachelor Gulch, Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa and The Sagamore among others. Baum will cover the Northeast territory with an emphasis on Financial and Pharmaceutical markets.

Jeff Costanzo, National Sales Manager
Costanzo's background includes sales positions at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort, Spa & Casino and Pier House Resort & Caribbean Spa. At Terranea, Costanzo will oversee the Southeast territory including Washington D.C. He will also focus on National Associations.

Gaetan Mousseau, National Sales Manager
Mousseau joins Terranea from Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey. With more than 20 years experience, Mousseau will handle the Southern California and Southwest territories with an emphasis on Los Angeles corporations.

Susan Winkelmann, National Sales Manager
Winkelmann's territory will include the Midwest with a focus on major Incentive Houses. Winkelmann's 18-year career includes positions with Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa on Maui, Manele Bay Hotel and The Lodge at Koele on Lanai, Waterstone Marketing and Sterling Hotel Group.

Jennifer Yang, Sales Assistant and Marketing Coordinator
Assisting the sales team is Jennifer Yang. A recent graduate of Columbia University, Yang has experience in event marketing and sales through internships with several New York-based companies including Paint the Town Red, Le Parker Meridien Hotel and Eventsful, Inc.

Meetings at Terranea Resort
Featuring 60,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, many with views of the Pacific, Terranea will offer 33 meeting rooms in Southern California for social and business gatherings. The offerings will include the 18,000-square-foot Palos Verdes Grand Ballroom, the 6,600-square-foot Marineland Ballroom, and the Catalina Room, a 4,300-square-foot room with a sweeping view of the ocean and Catalina Island. This luxury meeting resort will also offer three boardrooms, two with fireplaces, 15 convenient breakout rooms and three large hospitality suites.

The outdoor meeting spaces at Terranea are as thoughtfully developed as the indoor event spaces. A wide variety of outdoor venues adds another 75,000 square feet of wedding, social event and meeting space. Each of the nine outdoor locations offers a different ocean view and distinct location. The unique 22,000-square-foot oceanfront Palos Verdes Meadows will be a highly sought after venue for weddings, group functions or concerts.
