This website is "dedicated to improving your skills and knowledge with respect to the world of Digital Photography." This site has been created by a retired Professional Advertising Photographer, who shares his images and knowledge, in the hope that others will expand their horizons and pushed the boundaries of their creativity to produce beautiful images of their own.

Would you prefer to have your photographers in your proximity, or are you happy to travel across the bridge to the south side?

FreshPhotograph.net can be used as a knowledge base for various types, and aspects of, photography; whether it be for personal enjoyment, or used as a source of additional or sole income.

Alan draws from his wide resources to bring you tips, tricks and educational material designed to make you a better photographer. He started working as a Freelance Advertising Photographer in Sydney, Australia, where he had a number of studios over the years. He specialized in still-life and food photography, but was also called upon to do location work and special effects.

After leaving High School, Alan enrolled in an Art College to study Photography. This is where he decided to embark on a career of Advertising Photography. Alan believed he could infuse his Art education into commercial photography, in order to create inspiring and empowering images.

Once his mind was set on opening a photographic studio, the next question was: "Where should it be?". So, before opening the doors of his first studio, he conducted some market research of his own. He discovered that most advertising agencies tended to cluster in a particular geographic location where the cost of real estate was quite high (because advertising agencies like to have a high profile), and yet the majority of photographers were located in the cheaper areas that had more warehouse-style facilities (perfect for building studios). These two geographic areas were separated by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Alan phoned all the art directors of the advertising agencies on the north side of Sydney and asked one main question: "Would you prefer to have your photographers in your proximity, or are you happy to travel across the bridge to the south side?" The resounding majority much preferred someone local. Thus, Alan bucked the trend and opened his first studio right in the midst of the advertising agency community. He's calculated decision paid off.

After gathering a wealth of photographic knowledge over the years, Alan has now decided to share his passion for photography so that others will be inspired to indulge in the art. So, whether you are new to the world of digital photography and want to start learning more, or whether you want to further your knowledge and skills of this craft, FreshPhotograph.net will be a great resource for you.
