Cardinus, (a THB Group plc member company) - providers of online injury reduction solutions and risk management within the safety, fleet and property sectors, today held a press briefing to coincide with European Safety and Health at work week at Leadenhall Street, London on 20th October 2008 to launch their leading Display Screen Equipment injury reduction solution - Workstation Safety Plus 8.0.
Research conducted in the mid 90s suggests that an economic downturn may lead to a rise in staff sickness absence. It is therefore essential that businesses address the causes of absence now. This press briefing considered the research alongside a new study by Parsons Corp., one of the world's largest engineering groups, which shows how business can use technology to minimise the cost of staff sickness absence.
Copies of the case study (suitable for publication) are available.
To coincide with the case study, Cardinus presented a new version of Workstation Safety Plus (WSP), the leading Display Screen Equipment injury reduction solution. WSP is used by many of the UK's government departments and blue chip companies to help protect staff from soft tissue injuries while working at their computers.
Rick Spencer and Nathan Williams demonstrated how, by integrating Workstation Safety Plus and PACE into Parsons ergonomics process, they experienced a 50% reduction in injuries and a 75% reduction in injury costs after only one year.
