Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2008
Kaiser Permanente will pilot a new application format on October 24, 2008 that is designed to make it easier for underwriters to collect and process information. Until now, this format has only been available for applicants in Colorado, Hawaii and Ohio. This comprehensive application enables Kaiser Permanente underwriters to collect more medical information directly from the application without having to investigate further and wait for answers, a process which often delays approval for up to four weeks. With more questions answered thoroughly on the application, it is possible for applicants to have approval in less than two weeks.
The new Kaiser Permanente Application Online (KPAOL) is the most sophisticated online enrollment form released by Kaiser Permanente. Visitors to the site may enroll online or download a paper application to fill out and mail. The paper application is 20 pages and can accommodate a family of 6. Larger families can simply print off a second application. For added convenience, Kaiser also gives the option to register online and complete the application electronically. This method does not have family size limits. Once the application is processed, responses are sent electronically. The new application is simple to complete, saves processing time for underwriters and enables brokers to better serve their customers.
Kaiser Permanente, the leading HMO provider, offers affordable health insurance coverage for individuals and groups. Coverage includes doctor visits, maternity care, prenatal care, hospital care, emergency services and prescription drugs. Individuals and families can get quotes online and receive advice about the plans that meet their specific needs. Kaiser Permanente places great emphasis on preventative medicine and the importance of good nutrition and exercise. To that end, they offer discounts on massage therapy, health club memberships and chiropractic services. Additionally, some plans include Weight Watcher discounts and vision care.
Kaiser Permanente serves 8.7 million members in nine states and the District of Columbia. There are about 13,700 physicians, over 500 medical offices and centers and hundreds of pharmacies in-network. Members have 24-hour access to a toll-free customer service number to get assistance with medical questions and/or ask questions about benefits. New enrollees may visit KPAOL to apply.
