Our inspiration comes from our passion of interior home design. Lighting can bring a lot in terms of home décor.

Just because you have family doesn't necessarily mean that you're prone to a family feud - game show or otherwise. This notion is proven by Alicia Lightner and her mother, Lori McGhehey, who've collaborated on their new family business, Creations Lighting.
"We wanted to do something unique and fun," said Lightner. "Our inspiration comes from our passion of interior home design. Lighting can bring a lot in terms of home décor."
Since November 2007, Creations Lighting has rapidly grown as one of the best online retailers for art deco and modern style lighting. While many websites focus on classic styles that would compliment a Victorian style home, Creations Lighting has found a happy medium with their catalog.
"We wanted to focus on the modern, contemporary feel," explained Lightner. "We also have some rustic options who like those kinds of designs.
"Our fixtures can be customized by size," she continued. "We want to have products based on what customers want."
With their first year of existence rapidly approaching, Lightner and McGhehey are planning on expanding their site: "We want to branch out into other areas of home décor. We'll head into furniture. Our idea is to be involved in home décor as a whole," said Lightner.
They've also added a blog (http://www.CreationsLightingDock.com) to their webstore for the customers to better acquaint themselves with both the site and lighting ideas. "For the blog, we really want to shed some light on ideas from our customers," said Lightner. "We'll talk about the history of lighting and ways it can affect your home décor."
"It will also be a way for us to feature products from the site, as well as give customers information on how lights will benefit them," added McGhehey.
Rather than bickering, Alicia Lightner and Lori McGhehey are able to be both fun and professional through their Creations Lighting banner. Not only to they show us that parent and child relationships truly last a lifetime, but that they can "brighten" up your day, too.
