Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 23, 2008
Consumers searching for real estate in the Hudson Valley region of New York have a competitive advantage when negotiating for properties found on Realtor.com, the #1 homes-for-sale-site. Updated information on property listings is fed to Realtor.com by the Greater Hudson Valley Multiple Listing Service (MLS) every 15-minutes, delivering the freshest and most up-to-date information to home buyers searching online for real estate.
"We know nothing's more frustrating than researching properties online and finding you're basing a decision on old or out-of-date information," says Realtor.com President, Errol Samuelson. "Through our 15-minute MLS data update program, consumers searching on Realtor.com for properties in Hudson Valley now have instant access to comprehensive information in as close to real time as possible. This means a seller's home will be visible to potential buyers faster and buyers will be able to find new homes or take advantage of price changes faster."
About half of the 4.5 million+ property listings on Realtor.com are currently updated four times an hour. The average listing on Realtor.com is refreshed at least 13 times a day.
"It's vital that home buyers, sellers and Realtors have access to the most up-to-date information available in order to negotiate through today's extremely challenging real estate market," said Ann Garti, CEO, Greater Hudson Valley MLS. "We're excited to work with Realtor.com to update home listings every 15-minutes. Delivering this kind of currency and transparency to consumers and then putting them in direct contact with local Realtors is an important step toward transforming the real estate market for the benefit of all parties involved."
To stay on top of the market, home buyers searching Hudson Valley on Realtor.com can opt-in to receive emails or RSS feeds that deliver immediate updates when a property matching a buyer's saved search criteria is listed, as well as when price adjustments or new photos are added to a listing of interest. Later this year, Realtor.com will begin time stamping every listing so consumers know exactly when the listing was last updated. Samuelson adds, "While some national real estate sites show listings on their sites, only Realtor.com delivers the most property listings in Hudson Valley that are also updated every 15-minutes. Combined with the full array of tools, resources and connections to local Realtors®, we're confident consumers searching for properties in this area on Realtor.com will be better prepared and hopefully more successful in finding the home of their dreams."
