Stanford, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2008
The successful "Getting to the Top" career development program continues with a program of information technology industry CEOs sharing their stories of progression up the career ladder, and the skills and traits that helped get them there. The October 28 program presented jointly by Alumni Career Services at Stanford Graduate School of Business and UCLA Anderson School of Management, in association with Kathryn Ullrich, president of executive recruiting firm Kathryn Ullrich Associates, Inc, is an event for aspiring CEOs.
This program will explore the skills needed as senior executives reached the top level in technology companies. The panelists are:
- Farhat Ali, President and CEO at Fujitsu Computer Systems
- Sam Cece, CEO at StrongMail Systems
- Penny Herscher, President and CEO at FirstRain
- Paul McNamara, CEO at Coghead
- Bob Wiederhold, President and CEO at Transitive
- Moderator: Kathy Ullrich, Executive Recruiter at Kathryn Ullrich Associates, Inc.
"In today's economy, career development programs such as Getting to the Top are needed more than ever to help our alumni base in identifying and developing skills that make them competitive in the job market," shared Mercy Eyadiel, Director of Alumni Career Services at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
"By identifying skills that C- and VP-level executives find important for career success, Getting to the Top guides participants in taking control of their careers," said Kathy Ullrich, executive recruiter with Silicon Valley search firm Kathryn Ullrich Associates, Inc. "Just like the trend moved from company pension programs to employee directed 401K retirement plans, I believe career development is shifting from corporate sponsored training to individual responsibility."
"Getting to the Top -- CEOs at the Top" will take place Tuesday, October 28th, at Stanford GSB, Bishop Auditorium at 6 p.m. Additional "Getting to the Top" events will be offered on Thursday, November 6 with SDForum's Tech Women's Program at Varian Medical Systems in Palo Alto and on Thursday, November 13 at UCLA Anderson School of Management.
