Help for the harried parent of a teenager that refuses to communicate, and step by step answers for the Teenager on how to be heard. Colleen Brooks has worked with teenagers for 17 years, as a mother of 5 and experience working with troubled teenage girls in an institution based facility. Colleen's own teen life was anything but perfect, giving her first hand experience of how a rebellious or confused mindset can effect family life.

"Working with both the teenager and the parents is the key," says Brooks. "There is no easy answer, and only difficult questions and circumstances". The age old problem is that children don't come with a "how to" manual, and teenagers definitely didn't come with an instruction book!"
Colleen is offering Christian based mentoring for the family. "I don't believe there is such a thing as an 'expert' in this area," says Brooks. "But if , 'been there, done that' is any indication of expertise, I would say I am as close as they come"! Assurance given to the teen there is hope, answers, and an end to the confusion is top priority. How to accept the teen as the person they are growing to be is just one of the things that Colleen aids parents in working toward to understanding and bonding with their teenager.
Using the King James Bible as guide and textbook, Mrs. Brooks confronts the problems head on with the family. "Sometimes I will call in a Preacher, with the consent of the parents of course, when pastoral backup is needed, but for the most part, taking the step in calling me in will be just the answer. Getting an unbiased ear, or bringing in an uninvolved party, will immediately cool off some hot situations."
