Iraqi War Veteran Helps People Stay in Touch with Their Loved Ones

BGM Connect (www.BGMConnect.com) was started by Brian Maghielse as a way for people overseas or in far away places to keep in touch with their families. The site went live in May 2008 and has subsequently garnered a lot of attention.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 26, 2008 -- Former Marine and Iraqi War veteran Brian Maghielse understands how important it is to keep in contact with family members that are thousands of miles away. While stationed in Iraq, he noticed that the phone cards he was buying were not everything that they should've been.

"You get a phone card and you run into problems with it," he says, "like it says '150 minutes' and it turns into 10 minutes. I saw that international phone cards had better rates, so I thought to make them available for people who need them."

Maghielse developed and launched www.BGMConnect.com in May 2008. The website specializes in getting affordable international calling cards out to people who need them. "It was difficult to find a good phone card in Iraq," recalls Maghielse. "I realize that I'm not the only individual who had this problem and I feel like I can really help people get in touch with their families if I step in to make it easier for them."

BGM Connect also offers a Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which is essentially an internet telephone, through Vonage. And Maghielse doesn't plan to end there.

"I want to do everything in communications," he says. "I do see international cell phones as a possibility."

Another step of his to open up communication is the blog that he's built, www.BGMConnnectInfo.com: "It's research-based. How to get the right phone card and which one could be the best. I'm also going to offer other communication resources through the blog."

With all these changes and endless possibilities for his website, Maghielse's goal is really to reunite people with the familiarity that keeps their spirits up.

"When I was gone I felt like I lost a connection with everyone. I was the very last to know everything and the way I could get that connection was to call home and talk to my friends and family," explains Maghielse.
