Zodiac of North America, Inc. Doubles Factory Production at South Carolina Plant
Consolidation of North American operations and double-digit annual growth in fuel efficient Zodiac RIBs drive expansion
Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) October 26, 2008 -- Zodiac of North America, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of inflatable boats and rigid-hull inflatable boats (RIBs), announced plans to double their factory size and increase production capacity at their plant in Summerville, South Carolina.
The Zodiac Pro, built at the South Carolina facility, provides an excellent and stable platform for fishing.
"We are starting to see our recreational RIBs take hold in America as primary boats like they are in Europe where fuel prices have been high for years," Howard French, Vice President, Zodiac of North America, commented. "Expanding at our South Carolina facility not only allows us to meet this rising demand, but it also improves our efficiency with other models built at this facility."
Zodiac attributes the double-digit growth for Zodiac RIBs in 2007 and 2008 to their fuel efficiency, which is twice that of similar-sized center consoles. SaveFuelKeepBoating.com. Zodiac manufactures and assembles Zodiac Pro, ProOpen, and Yachtline product lines at the Summerville facility, representing all their RIBs except their ProJets. Military and Professional RIBs are also slated for production when the expansion is operational.
