Encryption Wizard for Oracle Breaks Speed Barrier for AES-256 Database Encryption and FIPS-140-2 Compliance

Relational Database Consultants Inc. (RDC), www.relationalwizards.com, today released benchmarks for the Encryption Wizard for Oracle, the fastest database encryption and security software on the market. Using AES256, FIPS-140-2 compliant cryptography, the Encryption Wizard was able to encrypt 1 million rows in slightly over three minutes. The benchmark was run on an AMD dual-core processor running Windows Vista. Results of this benchmark are published at: www.relationalwizards.com/oracle_encryption/database_encryption_benchmark.pdf

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 27, 2008 -- Relational Database Consultants Inc.

"Not only is the initial database encryption fast," marvels Michael Richards of AIS, www.advantis.com, a NYC-based consulting firm that performed the test. "The Encryption Wizard buffers keys and utilizes bit-mapped indexes for amazing performance results that barely degrade the speed of the Oracle RDBMS."

The key to the Encryption Wizard's advantage over offerings like Protegrity's Defiance Security Suite or Application Security Inc's DbProtect, is its native use of Oracle's dbms_crypto and dbms_obfuscation_toolkit. Explains marketing director Don Parret, "The Encryption Wizard is the only database encryption offering that was actually was designed around the Oracle database kernel. This gives us a speed advantage and the added stability of using proven encryption algorithms from Oracle."

Around the streamlined architecture of the encryption engine, the Encryption Wizard also brags of an easy-to-use graphical front-end that allows security mangers quick viewing, auditing, and password protection of their sensitive data. "So easy, a caveman can use it," remarks Oracle DBA Dave DeManbey, who headed the University of Hartford's migration to encrypted data for their Banner software system.

"Oracle customers shouldn't have to sacrifice either performance or a friendly interface, to simply secure their database data," explains Don Parret of RDC. "With the Encryption Wizard, FIPS-140-2 compliance is made easy without significantly degrading performance or wasting precious man hours."

The Encryption Wizard for Oracle runs seamlessly on Windows, Unix, and Linux platforms and is priced at under $5,000 (US) per instance. Free trial downloads are available at:
