Global telecommunications company furthers commitment to delivering accessible, affordable network solutions

Our ongoing work with the RUS ensures that the expansion of networks delivering high-bandwidth services continues to advance in new, previously under-serviced geographies across the United States

BTI Systems, a global supplier of Intelligent Service Edge solutions for the delivery of high-bandwidth, multi-protocol services, today announced that the Rural Utilities Service (RUS) division of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has certified the BTI 7000 Series. The BTI 7000 Series, a Packet Optical Edge platform that provides greater transport capacity, dynamic networking, and management simplicity, is now authorized for use on telecommunications systems of USDA Rural Development loan recipients.

"Our ongoing work with the RUS ensures that the expansion of networks delivering high-bandwidth services continues to advance in new, previously under-serviced geographies across the United States," said Pete Dale, Vice President North American Sales, BTI Systems. "We are committed to delivering solutions that exceed industry standards and enable utility organizations to maximize growth opportunities and build out rural infrastructure."

The RUS provides technical guidance and financial assistance to organizations delivering technological advances to rural communities through financing for construction, procurement of equipment, and enhancements to the networks of Independent Operating Companies (IOCs) and Rural Local Exchange Carriers (RLECs). The 7000 Series certification enables these organizations to deliver high-bandwidth services, such as Video on Demand (VoD), 10 GbE, GbE and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH), in an affordable, compact, low power consumption, easy to use system to rural businesses and residents.

The BTI 7000 Series 7020, 7030, and 7060 platforms are included in the RUS certification. The company's flagship Netstender microWDM series was certified in 2005.
