Rideau becomes a platinum sponsor helping raise $82,500 for Habitat for Humanity at Scotiabanks' 8th annual charity golf tournament

This organization is so important because it helps families have a safe and healthy living environment. Helping break the cycle of poverty, not only helps the families in need, but in the end also benefits the community as a whole. Habitat allows for good intentions to be turned into concrete reality. There aren't many organizations that can claim the same

Rideau Recognition Solutions participated in their 4th charity golf tournament hosted by Scotiabank this past August. As platinum sponsors, Rideau helped raise an impressive $82,500 for Habitat for Humanity Canada, and also donated a scooter for the event's silent auction.

The check was presented by Rideau and Scotiabank to Habitat for Humanity's VP of Development, Mary Heinmaa, August 21st 2008.

Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, non-profit organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Their mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Habitat for Humanity Canada has to date built more than 1000 homes coast to coast since its inception.

Worldwide, this well known organization has built over 225,000 homes, and is now building a new home every 21 minutes. With its success in the hands of their volunteers and fundraising events, Habitat for Humanity relies on the generosity and good will of its community.

Over the years, Rideau has been an active participant in many charities with the Canadian Cancer Society and has raised thousands of dollars for a cure to stop cancer. They were eager to help an equally deserving organization, such as Habitat for Humanity, which helps better the lives of so many Canadians. "This organization is so important because it helps families have a safe and healthy living environment. Helping break the cycle of poverty, not only helps the families in need, but in the end also benefits the community as a whole. Habitat allows for good intentions to be turned into concrete reality. There aren't many organizations that can claim the same," says Rideau CEO Peter Hart.

With the phenomenal success of this year's charity golf tournament, Rideau looks forward to tee time at Scotiabank's next year's event.
