Detroit, MI (PRWEB) October 29, 2008
MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc., the North American regional headquarters for MTU Friedrichshafen, a Tognum Group company, announced today that it has been named as one of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in Metro Detroit as defined by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). This year's competition included over 1,000 nominations representing over 400 companies.
"We are very honored and excited to be recognized as one of Metro Detroit's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For," said Patrick Kapusta, Senior Manager of Human Resources for MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc. "We have always known that our employees are our greatest strength and have worked hard to develop programs to attract and retain the best people -- from application engineers to accountants to regional sales managers."
"We have been on a path of tremendous growth, doubling our headcount in the past three years," Kapusta continued. "Last year we hired 81 full-time salaried employees and we are on pace to exceed that number in 2008. The Best and Brightest distinction will undoubtedly help us attract the type of high caliber candidates that we need to continue on this path of growth."
One of the significant aspects of the Best and Brightest nomination is that it begins with an employee nomination. Once a company has been nominated, the company's human resources department is required to complete a comprehensive survey that covers areas such as communication, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, employee engagement, employee education, recognition and retention, recruitment and work-life balance.
At the same time, company employees are randomly selected to anonymously complete a confidential survey about their work environment. The results of both the HR survey and the employee surveys form the basis of the selection criteria.
This is MTU Detroit Diesel's first year as both a 101 Best and Brightest nominee and winner. According to Kapusta, "It is just the first in what we expect will be a long line of Best and Brightest distinctions."
MTU Detroit Diesel, Inc. is experiencing tremendous growth in its Detroit / Redford facility and is actively hiring for a multitude of open positions. For a complete list of career opportunities, please visit http://www.mtudetroitdieselcareers.com.
