Turtle Wings Electronics Recycler has been designated by SAMSUNG as a drop-off location for all DC, MD and VA residents. Any resident may drop off designated SAMSUNG electronics at the Turtle Wings location at 1771 Olive Street in Capitol Heights, MD free of charge Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

For this free recycling program, the product must be a Samsung electronic device such as a cell phone; printer; monitor or TV. Appliances are not covered by this program. Other manufacture’s electronic products will be accepted at this location for a nominal fee.

Turtle Wings was selected based on their shared no-landfill philosophy and high level of customer service. Turtle Wings provides an easy drop off location to customers from all across the Greater Washington area as their facility is conveniently located at the intersection of Rte. 295 and Rte. 50.

“The thing that makes Turtle Wings really stand out from other companies is their commitment to the earth. Unlike other recyclers, who often started in the trash business or who got into this business for profit reasons, Turtle Wings has always had a no landfill policy and no export policy,” said Janet Inglehart. “Turtle Wings has a high integrity level and a long term commitment to preserving the earth.”

Turtle Wings is a woman-owned, hub-zoned company that provides electronics recycling services and data destruction services to nationwide customers. Turtle Wings also provides de-installation, removal and recycling services for: robotic arms; telecom equipment; mainframes; tape libraries; lab equipment; production equipment, etc.

Turtle Wings has a division called Data Killers that provides certified data destruction services to nationwide customers. Data Killers holds the federal government contract for destroying data and can shred and/or degauss any type of hard drive, back-up tape, thumb drive, blackberry, or cell phone. Data Killers provides both on-site and off-site data destruction services and can destroy up to and including classified materials with NSA-approved equipment.

“In keeping with our landfill-free philosophy, all the residual material from our shredding projects is recycled in full compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Other shredding companies send their shredded tapes to landfills but we adhere to a strict code of ethics in all aspects of our business,” said Elizabeth Wilmot, President of Turtle Wings and Data Killers. “Since we are a woman-owned, hub-zoned business, we offer companies and agencies a chance to fulfill their supplier-diversity mandates while being green and compliant!”
