NTT-IT of Japan, a subsidiary of NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Company of Japan), one of the world's largest telecommunications companies and its partner VRMeetings, Inc. , has launched MeetingPlaza, the world's most advanced web and video conferencing solution as a SaaS (Software as a service), available as a low cost monthly or annual license and available over the public internet.

All businesses can now enjoy "on demand" web and video conferencing with real time collaboration over the public internet says Ryan Francis, VRMeetings Director of Marketing. "Our new MeetingPlaza SaaS is designed for small and medium sized companies to connect with customers, geographically disbursed stakeholders and multiple offices. It allows organizations maximum flexibility for teleworkers, telecommuters and home based businesses."

MeetingPlaza's combination of high quality VoIP, high resolution video, instant messenger and collaborative tools creates a virtual presence that resembles a traditional office presence for participants. This may eliminate employee accountability, isolation and other challenges associated with teleworking.

"MeetingPlaza as a SaaS is not a proof of concept, says Rick Miller, VRMeetings CTO. MeetingPlaza has been around for many years and NTT-IT employs some of the world's top engineers. MeetingPlaza has been successfully deployed as a SaaS in Japan for over 6 years".

"We're launching MeetingPlaza as a SaaS now because most businesses or households have access to the bandwidth required to use MeetingPlaza through their internet service providers. MeetingPlaza has a very low bandwidth requirement of approximately 25-35kbps per audio/visual stream. It is a Certified Solution of AT&T Wireless and works effectively over wireless networks and wireless cards. Most users should have an enjoyable collaborative experience with cable, dsl or wireless connections," Miller explained.

MeetingPlaza is a "business productivity" tool that combines voice, data, video and interactive collaboration tools, including application sharing, text chat, web sharing, file sharing and record and replay functions into a "single unified" product for use as a SaaS (Software as a Service) over the public internet, wireless networks or corporate intranets.

Meetingplaza can connect up to 32 meeting participants into a single session (3,000 participants for large conferences and webinars). It is a fully integrated solution and requires no software downloads or third party software. Its high level of encryption allows for full encryption of voice, data and video for collaborating in a safe and secure manner

The MeetingPlaza solution requires no special equipment, phone lines or conference bridges and is designed to be a low cost alternative to traditional solutions. Costs for monthly and annual SaaS (Software as a service) licenses average $50 per license.

"MeetingPlaza is designed to connect teleworkers, telecommuters, salespeople and companies with geographically disbursed workforces. We help companies to eliminate travel, reduce costs associated with rising fuel costs and promote social responsibility through reductions in emissions and environmental pollutants," says Mike Cormier, VRMeetings, CEO. "We believe that video conferencing alone has limited value and interactive collaboration tools combined with video may provide companies with more measurable outcomes and a greater return on investment. MeetingPlaza brings stakeholders together to collaborate and perform real business tasks and enable them to see each other using high quality video if necessary."
