Appistry, a provider of cloud application platform software, today said Bob Lozano, the company's chief strategist and founder, will discuss the impact of cloud computing on the geospatial intelligence community at this week's GEOINT Symposium. Mr. Lozano will speak as part of the symposium's "Industry Outlook and Best Practices from the Community At-Large" panel from 2-4 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 30. The annual event is hosted by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) and held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN.

As a panelist, Mr. Lozano will discuss Appistry's work with GeoEye, which recently launched GeoEye-1, a next-generation imaging satellite used by Google to power its popular Google Maps application. Appistry's cloud application platform allows GeoEye to deploy and run its existing image processing algorithms across a fabric of many off-the-shelf servers.

Appistry will demonstrate cloud-based geospatial intelligence applications in conjunction with its partners Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI), BAE Systems, ESRI, and GeoEye, in its booth (#232) at the USGIF-sponsored GEOINT 2008 Symposium. Appistry is a member of the USGIF.
Each year, more than 3,000 attendees come together at GEOINT with government, industry, academic, and military leaders, to learn from top leaders in the intelligence community, and discover cutting-edge geospatial intelligence technologies.
