The SACS accreditation is another step forward in realizing our vision for this school
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) October 29, 2008
Just 17 months after opening its doors, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School (BDCHS) received a recommendation for accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) through its Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (CASI). SACS CASI is part of AdvancED, the governing organization for education accreditation.
"The SACS accreditation is another step forward in realizing our vision for this school," said Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks. "Today's announcement is only possible because of the hard work of Dr. Swagger and her staff and we appreciate all they are doing to help these students realize their dreams." Brooks is a Founding Member and serves as President of the Governing Board of BDCHS.
BDCHS is a Hillsborough County public charter high school that focuses on programs such as Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment, which helps college bound students prepare for the post-secondary education experience. "This designation is pivotal in our advancement as a high performing high school and affirms our commitment to attracting students and families seeking high performance opportunities," said Dr. Phildra Swagger, BDCHS Executive Director/Principal.
The official accreditation announcement is expected within the next 30 days.
