Satcom Direct's Global One Number® enables direct access from aircraft to MedAire's 24/7 MedLink Global Response Center.

Satcom Direct, a leading innovator of satellite voice, fax, and Internet data service solutions, announces it has signed an agreement with MedAire Inc., the leading provider of remote medical solutions for aviation, to offer crewmembers an even easier way to get air-to-ground access to emergency physicians practicing at MedAire's 24/7 MedLink Global Response Center. This enhancement allows MedLink subscribers to dial their Satcom Direct Global One Number®, follow instructional prompts, and be connected quickly and directly to expert medical assistance.

Global One Number offers simple, 10-digit dialing anywhere in the world, with fast and dependable connections established within 15 seconds or less between the aircraft and the ground. Voice and fax data are transmitted using the same telephone number, and the line allows for call forwarding, multi-line rollover, caller ID, and customized greetings, prompts, and multi-lingual messaging. International Global One Numbers are also available.

"This agreement allows both Satcom Direct and MedAire clients to fully utilize the convenience of Global One Number and adds even more dimension and functionality to our robust product," said Jim Jensen, founder and owner of Satcom Direct. "No matter where clients are located, if they discover a need for medical assistance, all they have to do is dial their Global One Number, follow the prompts, and they will be connected to MedAire's MedLink Global Response Center."

An International SOS company, MedAire's 24/7 MedLink Global Response Center manages 48,000 remote medical cases annually, helping crew and passengers of business jets, airlines, luxury yachts, and commercial ships manage medical emergencies in the air and on the ground. When situations require the assistance of additional medical resources, MedAire will seamlessly work with International SOS to maximize local care by identifying, coordinating, and managing those ground resources.

"When a medical event strikes, all you want is immediate assistance, whether you're in the air or on the ground in an unfamiliar location," said Grant Jeffery, CEO, MedAire. "I'm pleased that Satcom and MedAire are aligning to provide remote assistance of the highest quality as quickly and conveniently as possible. We're making it even easier for MedLink subscribers to reach us through the Global One Number."
