First Choice Power funding will help customers with electric bills following Hurricane Ike.

We have seen an increase in the need for assistance following Hurricane Ike

First Choice Power donated $25,000 to Interfaith Caring Ministries in League City this week for customers who need help paying their electric bills.

"We know that customers need extra help following the damage of Hurricane Ike," said Jeff Weiser, president of First Choice Power. "Our company and our employees are committed to helping our customers. We hope this donation helps make a difference for those who need extra assistance this year."

Interfaith Caring Ministries supports Clear Creek Independent School District residents who reside in both southern Harris County and northern Galveston County with a variety of services, including electric bill assistance.

"We have seen an increase in the need for assistance following Hurricane Ike," said Arden Stone, director of development for Interfaith Caring Ministries. "First Choice Power's donation will go a long way to help make a difference in the lives of families requiring help."

To apply for bill payment help, First Choice Power customers in the Interfaith Caring Ministries service area can call (281) 332-3881 or visit Interfaith Caring Ministries, 631 FM 270 League City. Interfaith Caring Ministries is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

First Choice Power provides bill payment assistance to a number of agencies across the state, Weiser added. For bill payment assistance information and referrals, call 211.
