The i-CAT gives us an incredibly accurate image so we can treat our patients with minimal trauma and achieve the absolute best results for them.

Drs. Delwin R. Hemingway and Mark A. Reber have added Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (i-CAT) to the arsenal of computerized diagnostic and treatment tools used at their cosmetic dentistry practice. This advanced form of CT scan provides computer enhanced, three-dimensional images of a patient's head and jaw line so that the doctors are able to gain an exceptionally accurate picture of the formation of the bones, joints and teeth of the jaw and their alignment. It aids in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions, particularly those involving the bones and muscles of the neck and jaw.
"There are certain conditions, such as TMJ, that are addressed in a variety of ways. We need to be able to see the underlying structure of the bones and joints and understand how the interplay of muscles and nerves over them will function from all angles," Dr. Hemingway, a neuromuscular dentist, explained. "The i-CAT gives us an incredibly accurate image so we can treat our patients with minimal trauma and achieve the absolute best results for them."
"We use the i-CAT in conjunction with a variety of other technologies such as electromyography, computerized tracking of jaw position and TENS to help patients complaining of chronic headache pain. There are actually about forty million Americans today that suffer from recurring headache pain that can be traced to dental problems," Dr. Reber noted. "Our aim is to take advantage of every technology possible in order to get to the root of the problem for each patient and get rid of that pain for good through quality, comfortable dental care."
Drs. Hemingway and Reber were recognized recently for "Best Integration of Technology into a Dental Office in America" for 2007 by the American Dental Association. They have added the i-CAT technology since winning the prestigious award in an effort to continue to stay abreast of the newest advances in diagnosis and treatment. The i-CAT computerized scans can be done in their office with minimal radiation and providing the highest resolution possible.
Although they treat a variety of unusual neuromuscular dental problems, their practice also provides comfortable dental care for everything from typical dental care and dental whitening to complex cosmetic dentistry, including crowns, braces and dental restoration.
