PLS Receives Activa Award from FiSCA for Its Back-To-School Promotion Benefiting Students
PLS Financial Services has received the prestigious Activa Award from FiSCA (Financial Services Centers of America) in recognition of its extraordinary contributions to the neighborhoods and communities in which PLS operates. The award was presented to PLS for its "Back-To-School" promotion in which the company contributed more than $90,000 to local schools and students.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 1, 2008 -- The FiSCA (Financial Service Centers of America) has honored PLS with the prestigious Activa Award in recognition of its Back-To-School charitable program. The Activa Award is given annually to neighborhood financial service center providers who demonstrate outstanding examples of involvement and investment in the communities in which they do business.
PLS's "Customer Appreciation" events, held at each PLS Loan Store and PLS Check Cashers location, included a donation to a community school. Each of the 155 PLS Loan Stores donated $200 per school, while the 105 PLS Check Cashers locations donated $300 per school. PLS also donated 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies (valued at $20 each) to schools and community programs for distribution to students in need.
Through its Back-To-School program, PLS donated more than $92,500 in total, in addition to over 900 man-hours. Dozens of schools and charitable organizations in Alabama, Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, New York, Texas and Wisconsin received donations.
FiSCA is the professional trade organization representing more than half of the nation's financial service center providers, and the sponsor of the Activa Awards.
The Activa Award "emphasizes that actions speak louder than words," according to the plaque presented to honorees. It recognizes those "who gave of themselves and rendered countless manpower hours and funding to build a better community."
