Annuity Grader Annuity Ranking System Assigns Transamerica Principium II Its Highest Five Star Ranking

The goal of the Annuity Grader® rating service is to provide investors an objective and easy-to-understand tool to assist them in evaluating today's popular annuity contracts.

The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) November 2, 2008 -- The Annuity Grader® Ranking methodology system uses it's own proprietary database as well as other market data vendors to first evaluate the structural integrity components. Annuities are then evaluated on popular rider benefits. Transamerica's PrincipiumII variable annuity, which offers a guaranteed lifetime income withdrawal benefit, garnered the services' highest five star ranking.

"Transamerica's Principium II has a very low 0.85 percent Mortality and Risk and Administrative Charge," said Mark Ragusa, Certified Financial Planner® and founder of AnnuityGrader.com. "Coupled with the best diversified low cost investment option I've ever seen in a variable annuity." The investment option is the Transamerica Index 75 VP and consists of a diversified portfolio of Vanguard exchange traded index funds.

"In addition, this annuity offers a guaranteed withdrawal benefit rider that provides lifetime income for single or married people. A married couple, in which both spouses are 60 years old, would receive a minimum of $9,773 per year for life beginning after ten years. This assumes an initial investment of $100,000 and that they took no withdrawals for the first ten years," said Ragusa. "The benefit base's monthly ratchet gives plenty of opportunities for locking in benefit base increases."

"One unique feature of the Principium II lifetime withdrawal benefit rider is the ability to receive a permanent increase in income after withdrawals have begun if the account value increases from one month to the next." This is regardless of if the account value is substantially lower than the benefit base. Very few withdrawal benefit riders allow this.
