Recreational Outdoor Supply Site Helps Support Health Care in Papua New Guinea
CowlitzRiverTraders.com, an online retailer of hunting, camping, fishing, and other outdoor supplies, was established in part to provide improved health care to the people of Papua New Guinea.
Medford, OR (PRWEB) November 2, 2008 -- CowlitzRiverTraders.com, a website dedicated to a wide variety of camping and outdoor supplies, was launched in September 2008 by Joseph McMahan with the intention of donating part of the proceeds to ship medical supplies to Papua New Guinea.
Working in the health care industry, McMahan was able to visit Papua New Guinea and immediately knew he wanted to offer help anyway he could.
"When I traveled to Papua New Guinea, I just fell in love with the people," said McMahan. "But their health care is like ours was in the 40s or 50s. In terms of medicine, we're light years ahead of them."
As McMahan became increasingly involved with the people and the cause, his desire to help became the driving force behind Cowlitz River Traders.
"I wanted this site to combine two of my passions--bringing medical supplies to those who need it and outdoor activities," said McMahan. "The site is tailored to people who have similar hobbies as I do, so we provide supplies for hunting, fishing, camping, and more."
Setting itself apart, Cowlitz River Traders has also made itself available to other small businesses with similar products.
"If you want to promote your product, it just makes sense that it's available in the greatest number of places," said McMahan. "If a company is interested in developing an affiliate relationship with us, they should contact us at jlmworldwidetrader @ gmail.com."
In other news, the site has also recently added a blog at www.CowlitzRiverBlog.com. This informational blog will contain details on various survival gear and equipment. It will also be a venue for customers and interested individuals to read pointers and tips regarding various outdoor activities.
