Pacific Media Expo Celebrates Five Years

For fashion fans, the Pacific Media Association has proudly led the way in bringing the lifestyle and beauty of Elegant Gothic Lolita into the convention mainstream. This year, shop the latest designs of brands Baby, the Stars Shine Bright, Peace Now, Black Peace Now and h.Naoto for the first time at PMX.
Hungry at the convention? Try more than 20 flavors of famed Japanese snack food Pocky. The Pacific Media Association, in association with Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd., will host a tasting room of the beloved flavor-glazed pretzel icon, founded in 1966 and featuring such flavors as milk chocolate, coconut, strawberry, green tea, honey, banana and more. Conversely, kick off the weekend at our Asian Food Challenge, Friday, Nov. 7. But watch out for the Bucket of Shame!
PMX was the first to bring Asia's newest trend to an Asian culture convention audience with .pure furisuta, which melds the origins of hip-hop dance with modern day hip-hop. This year, top-ranked dance crews SickStep and Kaba Modern, featured on So You Think You Can Dance and America's Got Talent, appear in exhibition.
Japanese music acts Kaya and Suicide Ali will make their American debuts at PMX as part of Pacific Music Live. VAEIDOS, Nylon Pink (featuring Taiwanese multimedia sensation Kaila Yu), Heday, and Vamp Star will also appear as PMX, in association with Cure and Tainted Reality, continues its dominance of bringing Japanese music to American audiences. The Pacific Music Live concert series showcases Asia's most gifted performing artists as well as up-and-coming Asian-influenced American musicians. Previous featured talent includes OLIVIA Lufkin, UchuSentai NOIZ, T.M.Revolution, Nami Tamaki, Psycho Le Cemu, Corrinne May, D&L, The Candy Spooky Theater, MECHANiCAL PANDA, Head Phones President, The Slants, Thee Out Mods, Dig Jelly, Jane Lui, Kumiko Kato, Lemon Drop Kick, Next Phaze, PINE*am, Random Ninjas, and Yousei Teikoku. PMX has also worked with Silver Ash and miyavi.
From anime premieres and CosFest to a Rock Band 2 tournament, industry panels and the original Twisted Tea Party, PMX's fifth year is one to remember.
