SLAPPA President Dominick Martinetti says there is certainly room for better quality backpacks and bags, and reveals that SLAPPA is on a mission to give gamers, DJ's, photographers and 2-day travelers more quality at better prices. "We hear regularly from consumers who are frustrated with the limited selection of high-quality bags in the large chain stores and on the Internet and we are seizing the opportunity to be the "gear-bag" of choice", Martinetti says. "This new Aura PRO-TOUR backpack is in direct response to what customers have been asking us for."

The Aura PRO-TOUR kicks off SLAPPA's new range of gear bags, featuring rugged, yet lightweight materials like 1680 D ballistic nylon, rip-stop interior nylon, thick padding throughout and many ancillary pockets for small gadgets; yet the most unique feature of this bag (and the others that will soon follow) is the "bag within a bag" concept.

The PRO-TOUR has an inner removable bag that has a configurable interior, which users can conform to fit whatever gear they are putting inside. This design is SLAPPA's answer to endless requests from DJ's, Gamers and Photographers who needed a bag that can carry a mix of gear + a laptop + accessories.

Martinetti continued to explain how SLAPPA plans to continue to grow it's allegiance of loyal customers. "For the five years SLAPPA has been in the market, we have heard from no less than 6000 direct customers who provide feedback such as 'you guys are the Mercedes of cases' and 'you guys need to be in Best Buy and Circuit City' yet as much as we would like to be in the larger chains, the challenge lies in the model of most large chain stores.

Most of the larger chain stores want their backpack and bag selection to offer low prices to their customers while also commanding very high profit margins. This means they buy less expensive product with very high mark-ups. So typically when a customer sees a backpack for $69.99, they can expect that in most cases they are buying a product that costs only about $10 to produce. I can tell you with certainty; NO ONE can make a high quality bag or backpack for $10. SLAPPA follows a very different model. We use the best materials, high-quality attachments and accessories and consider all the bells and whistles that make our bags better, continues Martinetti. "Then we price them fairly. If, for this new series, we followed the "typical" pricing model, these backpacks would cost over $300...instead we have a product that we offer for $150---and the quality is far beyond most any other $150 backpack you will find. We expect that this new line will be compelling enough where the larger chains will have to consider us as a best option at our price points."

SLAPPA has traditionally been a favorite of DJs and Gamers, who have both continually requested "application flexibility" for backpacks, because of the many different types of equipment and gear they use. Martinetti confirmed that this "application flexibility" is what triggered this "bag within a bag" concept found throughout the new Aura PRO-TOUR backpack series. After the initial product development the company found that the inner bag included with the Aura PRO-TOUR backpack is also a great "packing cube" for the 2-day traveler, creating endless uses for just one bag.
