From November 15 -17, Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund will be in the Sunshine State to promote National Smoke Out Day, November 20, and to promote her new cause of helping Americans get healthier and kick the smoking habit.

South Florida (PRWEB) November 5, 2008 -- From November 15 -17, Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund will be in the Sunshine State to promote National Smoke Out Day, November 20, and to promote her new cause of helping Americans get healthier and kick the smoking habit.

 
  • Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund, will be available for television and newspaper interviews from November 15-17 to promote saving lives, and urging smokers to quit the habit. As she travels across the country on her national tour and presents the stats on the smoking epidemic spreading across America.
  • 1 in 5 American's will die from smoking related illness.
  • The savings for an average smoker of 1 pack per day is over $1000.00 per year if they quit!
  • As part of her year of service, Miss America travels 20,000 miles per month across the country. By raising awareness of the dangers of smoking, and presenting all of the smoking cessation products available to help people stop smoking, Haglund's goal is to help save people's lives.
  • Miss America will be appearing this fall in a national TV documentary, praising the town of Ecru, Mississippi, the first town in America to take the Zerosmoke™ Smoke Free Challenge.
