Turtle Wings Sponsors Green Fest Electronics Recycling

Turtle Wings Electronics Recycling is celebrating America Recycles Day by holding two recycling events.

(Vocus/PRWEB ) November 6, 2008 -- Turtle Wings Electronics Recycling is celebrating America Recycles Day by holding two recycling events.

Visitors to the Green Fest which will be held Saturday, Nov 8th and Sunday Nov 9th at the DC Convention Center will be able to drop off their electronics for free recycling at the entrance booths. This is the second consecutive year that Turtle Wings has sponsored the recycling for the Green Fest.

“The Green Fest has become a major event here in DC and we are delighted to be a part of it,” said Jose Burke, of Turtle Wings. “We have been asking consumers to be globally responsible for years and we are elated that this trend has become stronger and stronger. There are so many things that you can do to help save the earth and recycling electronics is an action that everyone can take.”

The second event will take place on America Recycles Day, which is Saturday November 15th. This event is being hosted by PC Retro at their Alexandria, VA location located at 4926D Eisenhower Ave from 10 am to 1 pm.

All electronic items will be accepted for recycling. A complete list of acceptable electronics is available at the Turtle Wings website. For this event, consumers are welcome to bring as many items as they want. There will be a processing fee of $5.00/ carload of electronics. All hard drives will be wiped down to a C: prompt for data security purposes and hard drive shredding will be available for an additional $10.00.

“The thing that makes Turtle Wings really stand out from other companies is their commitment to the earth. Unlike other recyclers, who often started in the trash business or who got into this business for profit reasons, Turtle Wings has always had a no landfill policy and no export policy,” said Barbara Holt an environmental activist and organizer. “Turtle Wings has a high integrity level and a long term commitment to preserving the earth.”

Turtle Wings is a woman-owned, hub-zoned company that provides electronics recycling services and data destruction services to nationwide customers. Turtle Wings has a division called Data Killers that provides certified data destruction services to nationwide customers and the company holds the federal government contract for destroying data.
